Our name reflects our desire to be better each day than we were the day before. "Kaizen" is the Japanese word for "Improvement." This journey to be our best is one that many have undertaken and is also reflected in an old Japanese proverb: "Fall seven times and stand up eight."
Our style is useful in real-world situations. It began in Okinawa to equip the bodyguards to the Ryukyu emperor. Techniques from our style have been incorporated into the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP).
Martial arts offers these physical benefits:
Martial arts not only provide for personal safety, but contribute to growth for the whole person. We strive to be better than the day before, in every facet of life.
